Transparent and Accountable City Government
Residents deserve a city government that is open, responsible, and focused on serving the people of Yuma. Transparency builds trust, and responsible leadership means making decisions that prioritize the long-term well-being of our community. As mayor, I will work to ensure that city government operates with accountability, clear communication, and a commitment to responsible financial management.
Budget Transparency
Residents should be able to clearly understand how city resources are being used. I support improving public access to city budget information through clear online dashboards and easy-to-understand summaries so residents can see how funds are allocated and spent.
Responsible Tax Policy
Families and small businesses should not face unnecessary financial burdens. I will work to push back on unnecessary tax increases and support policies that protect residents from rising costs whenever possible.
Lower Costs on Essential Goods
Basic necessities such as groceries should remain affordable for families. I support exploring ways the city can help reduce financial burdens on essential goods where city policies allow.
Term Limits for City Leadership
Fresh ideas and leadership are important for a healthy democracy. I support establishing reasonable term limits for the mayor’s office to encourage new leadership and ensure continued accountability to the community.
Prioritizing Residents and Infrastructure
City investments should focus first on the needs of residents. Maintaining and improving public infrastructure—such as roads, utilities, and essential services—should take priority over large development projects that do not directly benefit the community.
Community Listening and Accountability
I will hold regular neighborhood listening sessions so residents can share their concerns and ideas directly with city leadership. Ensuring that every resident has a voice is essential to building a stronger and more responsive city government.
