Investing in youth and community programs is one of the most effective ways to build a stronger future for Yuma. When young people are given opportunities, guidance, and positive outlets, they grow into responsible leaders who contribute to the success of the entire community.

Invest in Youth and Community Programs
Strong communities are built by investing in the next generation. I believe that when young people have positive opportunities, strong mentorship, and access to healthy activities, it helps build discipline, confidence, and respect for the community. My goal is to expand youth and community programs across Yuma so that every young person has opportunities to grow, stay active, and develop skills that prepare them for the future.

City Youth Sports Leagues
I want to expand organized youth sports leagues that make it easy and affordable for young people to participate in athletics. These leagues would include sports such as boxing, basketball, soccer, and other community favorites. Participation would remain affordable through small registration fees combined with sponsorships from local businesses. By using existing city parks and facilities, these programs can operate efficiently while giving young people structured environments that encourage teamwork, discipline, and healthy lifestyles.

Mentorship and Career Exposure Programs
Many young people benefit from seeing real career paths early in life. I support programs that connect youth with professionals who can share their experiences and guidance. This could include mentorship programs, career exploration opportunities, and partnerships with local organizations and law enforcement such as youth cadet programs that help introduce students to careers in public service.

Arts, Music, and Technology Programs
Not every young person connects with sports, so creative and technical programs should also be available. I support youth programs that focus on art, music, and technology, with volunteers from the community helping teach skills and inspire creativity. These programs can help young people explore talents, build confidence, and develop skills that may lead to future careers.

Community Fitness and Wellness Programs
Promoting healthy lifestyles benefits people of all ages. I want to encourage community wellness initiatives such as organized evening walks that bring residents together to exercise and enjoy the city. These types of programs help build stronger connections between neighbors while encouraging healthy habits.

Boxing and Athletic Mentorship
Because of my background in the boxing community, I understand how sports can transform young lives. I want to promote opportunities where experienced athletes and coaches can mentor young people through boxing training, community workouts, and educational events. These programs can teach discipline, respect, and personal responsibility while creating positive outlets for youth energy.

Community Events and Youth Engagement
Community events are important opportunities to bring families together and create civic pride. I support expanding family-friendly events such as youth competitions, sports tournaments, cultural events, and community festivals. These activities not only support local businesses but also create positive experiences that strengthen the connection between residents and their city.

School Engagement
Staying connected with students and educators helps city leadership better understand the needs of young residents. I plan to regularly visit local schools to listen to students, support educational initiatives, and encourage young people to get involved in their community.
